Stage 9 of the long-distance hiking trail "Wendland Rundweg", Lower Saxony.
The ninth stage of the Wendland Circular Trail begins in Gorleben and runs for around 200 kilometres through the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park. Once again, you can enjoy magnificent views of the protected Elbe valley floodplains during the hike. If you are out and about in autumn or spring, you can observe countless migratory birds here - an impressive natural spectacle. After just under 20 kilometres, you reach Damnatz. There are several places to stay overnight and stop for refreshments here, so you can end the day in a relaxed manner.
