Rundstrecke Wald-Michelbach

Technically demanding mountain bike tour This varied tour over the Trommer Höhenrücken offers a number of technical and fitness challenges. The starting point is the Hofwiese car park in the centre of Wald-Michelbach at the Überwälder Einhaus, a rebuilt typical Odenwald farmhouse from around 1800. You leave the village in a northerly direction on the former railway embankment and after an initial climb, the route leads down to Kocherbach on wide paths via Hartenrod. After another short ascent at Steckelsberg, the route heads back downhill towards Kocherbach, where the first trails await above the church. The route then passes through Ober-Scharbach, along idyllic stream valleys and through tranquil forests to the Tromm. At the Schardhof, the turning point of the tour, there is a popular refreshment stop for bikers. Here the route intersects with the Hammelbach circuit (H1) and there is a connection to the Fürth circuit (F1). The route continues southwards on forest paths and after a steep path you reach the highest point of the tour, the Ireneturm observation tower (577 m). The next few kilometres down to Gadern offer some respite before the route in the village turns right and climbs once again to the Schimmelberg. You will be rewarded at the top of the ridgeway, where you can enjoy impressive views as far as the Rhine plain. The descent over the Storrbuckel, which leads back to Wald-Michelbach, should be tackled with concentration. Passing the town hall and through the idyllic Gass, you return to the starting point of the tour at the Einhaus.
