Gruendauer hiking trails Lieblos - Milan

The shortest of the Lieblos hiking trails is marked with a kite. The almost four kilometres around the Herzberg can be covered in around an hour. From the starting point on Sommerbergstraße, the trail climbs together with the fox, woodpecker, butterfly and owl to the "carriage road" at the edge of the forest. There, the kite is the only path to turn right and leads along the edge of the forest to the former forest swimming pool in Roth. At the lower end of the swimming pool area, turn right onto the road "Auf dem Herzberg" and together with the butterfly path below the restaurant "Paradies" back to Lieblos. Here you can still see the remains of some walls that terraced the vineyard above in the forest. Until the end of the 19th century, almost the entire Herzberg was a vineyard. Only the introduction of phylloxera put an end to this. The former Lieblos quarry is also located on the Herzberg. Until the 1950s, it was used for large festivals and even housed an open-air theatre. The quarry was closed to the public after some stones fell due to frost damage, destroying the changing rooms, among other things. Another stretch through the village and you have reached the starting point again.
