This hike takes you through the Döberitzer Heide nature reserve in Brandenburg. The route starts in Krampnitz and winds its way through the publicly accessible part of this extensive area, mostly through the Ferbitzer Bruch. Not far from the military training area, the route heads north through the unique heathland landscape with its remarkable flora and fauna. The path runs close to the core wilderness zone, which is off-limits as it is home to horses, deer and bison living in a protected wilderness. With a bit of luck, a good vantage point through the high fence may allow you to spot some of the animals. There are several vantage points along the way that offer a better view.
