Stage 8 of the long-distance hiking trail "Wasserläufer-Route", Bavaria.
Together with the Himmelsstürmer-Route and the Wiesengänger-Route, the Wasserläufer-Route forms the "Wandertrilogie Allgäu" long-distance hiking trail network.
The eighth stage of the Water Strider Route starts in Pfronten, which is idyllically situated directly on the River Vils. The 11-kilometre route leads through picturesque mountain landscapes to the Kappelköpfl, from where you hike next to the Alpspitzbahn cable car down into the valley. There are places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation, including some cosy mountain huts. The start and finish are accessible by bus and train.
