Beautiful circular hiking trail that runs north and south of the Pfreimdtal valley. Some steep climbs, good footwear required. This route starts in Trausnitz (where a guided tour of the castle is possible). Heading south, the Pfreimd is crossed at Kaltenthal and the hike leads alternately through forest and open fields to Hohentreswitz. The hiker approaches the Pfreimd via Kirchenholz and soon reaches Stein. Goats often graze here next to the remains of an old fortification. The hike leads back to Trausnitz via the Goldsteig-Zuwseg trail.
