Challenging mountain bike circuit over the Schrofenpass near Oberstdorf, Bavaria.
From Oberstdorf, the route leads past the idyllic Freibergsee lake and through the Stillach and Rappenalptal valleys up to the Speicherhütte hut. Now begins the difficult ascent to the Schrofenpass and on to Warth. The main road takes you over the Hochtannberg Pass down to Schoppernau. The route continues in a challenging manner: first via the Diedamskopf cable car to the Breitenalpe and then via a demanding trail to the Neuhornbach inn, where you can stop for refreshments.
From the Althornbach Alpe to the Starzeljoch, the bike has to be carried/pushed quite a distance. The route then descends to the Starzelalpe and from here back to the starting point of the tour.
Highlights:
- Wonderful views
- Varied natural landscapes:
- Sliding/carrying passages on the Schrofenpass and Starzeljoch
