Beautiful hike against a marvellous mountain backdrop, Bavaria.
The hike starts at the Murnauer Moos Biological Station (car park and toilets available). From there it leads through the moss and around the Staffelsee, via Uffing back to Murnau.
The Murnacher Moos is one of the largest contiguous and largely unspoilt moorland areas in Central Europe. The area enchants with a wealth of flora and fauna that has long since disappeared elsewhere.
The route is partially signposted - only the transition from Murnauer Moos to Staffelsee is not clearly marked. The Staffelsee is one of the warmest lakes in Bavaria and is one of the hiking classics. With its views of the lake and Alpine foothills, it is particularly attractive.
