Hochtannbergrunde ab Sonthofen

This route is a true racing bike classic, but it requires a good level of fitness. The route starts at the ice rink in Sonthofen on Hindelanger Straße. To avoid the busy Bundesstraße 308, turn right shortly before and then immediately left again into Strausbergstraße. At the end of the road, turn left and shortly afterwards cross the main road at the traffic lights. Shortly afterwards, follow the road to the right signposted Bad Hindelang. The road then becomes a cycle path along the B 308 to Vorderhindelang. In Vorderhindelang, take a side road to the Bad Hindelang roundabout. From there, take the German Alpine Road B 308 up the Joch Pass, the most winding Alpine route in Germany, to Oberjoch. Shortly after the village at the roundabout, turn right into the Tannheimer Tal. Cycle through the valley and then over the Gaichtpass down into the Lech Valley to Weißenbach. Turn right onto the B 198 and follow the Lech up to Warth. The route then continues over the Hochtannberg Pass into the Bregenz Forest. Follow the B 200 to Schoppernau, Andelsbuch and Hittisau. There you follow the B 205 via Krumbach, Riefensberg back to Germany. Via Oberstaufen, follow the B 308 to Konstanzer. Keep left there and follow the narrow but tarmac Moosweg along the Großer Alpsee via Trieblings to Bühl. Via Immenstadt, the route leads back via Blaichach to Sonthofen to the starting point.
