This route is stage 13 of the Altmühltal-Panoramaweg, a long-distance trail in Bavaria. This section leads from Griesstetten (Dietfurt) to Riedenburg. The path initially follows the Main-Danube Canal before climbing a forested ridge via the Rosskopfsteig, offering expansive valley views. After passing the majestic Eggersberg Castle, a steep ascent leads to the Teufelsfelsen (Devil's Rock) for spectacular scenery before descending into Riedenburg. Overnight stays are available in guesthouses and hotels in Dietfurt or Riedenburg; wild camping is prohibited. Potable water is available in the towns, but a supply should be carried for the steep climbs.
