A short but lovely hike up to Freiburg im Breisgau's local mountain - the Schauinsland ("Look-into-the-country")with its viewing tower. Mining was carried out here for over 700 years and today it is a popular excursion destination. Mont Blanc can also be seen from the lookout tower!
The starting point is at the car park in Schauinslandstraße. There is a restaurant at the top station of the Schauinslandstraße.
