Heroldstatt-Gosbach-Münsingen

This road bike route offers a great tour through the characteristic karst landscape of the Swabian Alb, which is characterised by gentle limestone plateaus and deep, wooded valleys. Steady climbs alternate with rewarding descents in the heart of the UNESCO Global Geopark, where 40,000 years of history are etched into the landscape. The route leads through the biosphere reserve near Münsingen, a former military training area that is now protected due to its unique biodiversity. Tardive juniper heaths and white limestone cliffs characterise the route. The terrain is completely tarmac and therefore ideal for racing bikes, but the frequent climbs require a high level of physical fitness and stamina. This tour showcases the natural beauty of the Swabian Alb, a region known for the oldest ice age art in the world, which was found in the nearby caves.
