Idyllic, certified premium hiking trail in the Swabian Alb, Baden-Württemberg.
This route is part of the "Hiking pleasure on the Früchtetrauf". The well-balanced tour starts at the "Schwanholz" leisure centre and leads through all the scenic facets of the Früchetrauf. On delicate wooden paths, the so-called "Jägerwegle", you hike over babbling brooks that are cut deep into the landscape. There are marvellous views of the Albtrauf from the Firstberg. You hike through species-rich orchards and charming forests, where previous winners of the "Tree of the Year" award are presented along the way. Particularly worth seeing is what was once the mightiest tree in Württemberg, the "Dicke Eiche". The hiking trail can be reached by bus and train, getting off at Nehren railway station.
