Albsteig (HW1) Stage 12: Willmandingen - Jungingen

This route is stage 12 of the Albsteig (HW1), a long-distance trail along the northern edge of the Swabian Jura. This specific segment starts in Willmandingen (Sonnenbühl) and ends in Jungingen. The hike features spectacular geology and wide views: following the panoramic outlook from the Riedernberg, the path leads down to Talheim. A major highlight is the Mössingen Landslide at the Hirschkopf, the largest landslide in Baden-Württemberg's recent history. Passing the Dreifürstenstein, one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Alb, the trail continues along the ridge before descending into the Killertal valley to Jungingen. Overnight stays are available in guesthouses or at the Hotel Post in Jungingen; wild camping is prohibited in the nature park. Potable water is accessible in the towns and in Talheim, but a supply should be carried for the exposed ridge sections.
