This route is stage 8—the final stage—of the Malerweg, a long-distance trail through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. This section leads from Weißig to the finish line in the historic old town of Pirna. Highlights include the ridge path over the Rauenstein table mountain with its impressive panoramas and the trail along the upper edge of former quarries to the Königsnase viewpoint.
