This route is stage 3 of the Eifelsteig, a premium long-distance trail through the Eifel region. This specific section starts in the historic cloth-making town of Monschau and ends in Einruhr on the Obersee lake. The path leads from picturesque half-timbered alleys up to the Kierberg viewpoint and continues along the Perlenbach Reservoir to Monschau-Höfen. A really great and very varied stage! Lots of climbs but great views. Absolutely worthwhile. There is a bus from Roetgen to Monschau. There is a summer toboggan run in Roetgen, which is definitely worth a visit ;-) The start of the Eifelsteig in Monschau is directly above the bus station, diagonally upwards to the right into the mountainside.
