Best trails near Brunswick Lion

Popular running event in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony. This is the half marathon course of the Braunschweig Running Days. The marathon follows the same route, but completes the lap twice. The route starts at Kohlmarkt and runs once around the Südsee and through several pretty parks south of the city centre. Up-to-date information is available from the organiser (link under "Tips"). On this route, the Weser-Harz-Heide cycle path (WHH) first leads from Braunschweig city centre to Abbesbüttel. A few years ago, the Marina Abbesbüttel was built directly on the Mittelland Canal, an exclusive residential area.
