This trail is the 50th stage of the Via Alpina, a long-distance hiking route through eight Alpine countries that begins at the Prinz-Luitpold-Haus and ends in Oberstdorf. Follow the course of the purple path to the Schönberghütte and shortly before Oberstdorf you meet the yellow path. From the Prinz-Luitpold-Haus follow the Heilbronner Weg to the Schönberghütte. From here it goes up to the flowery Laufbacher Eck. The Via Alpina follows the promising path north to the Edmund-Probst-Haus. From there you can either take the Nebelhorn cable car or walk to Oberstdorf.
