Best trails near Vorderer Kirchstein

Panoramic hike near Lenggries in the Tölzer Land region. This beautiful but also strenuous hike leads from the mountain station of the Brauneck mountain railway along a breathtaking high-altitude trail to the Benediktenwand and back again via the Tutzinger Hütte. The path over the Achselköpfe requires a head for heights and surefootedness. If you are minimally sure-footed, you can easily manage this tour and enjoy the wonderful views. First, take the Lenggries cable car up to the Brauneck. From there, head to the summit cross and continue via the serviced Stie-Alm in the direction of Latschenkopf. You can either walk back to Lenggries or take the cable car again.

From Lenggries heading west, the Via Alpina leads back up the Kaiser-Maximilian Weg to the Brauneck. If you want to save yourself the long ascent through the forest, you can also use the Brauneck cable car. From Brauneck it is a leisurely hike at an altitude of 1,400-1,500m through mountain pines, alpine grass and the rugged terrain along the Benediktenwand. This route follows stage 13 of the Maximiliansweg, a long-distance trail through Germany and Austria, beginning at the Tutzinger Hütte and ending in Lenggries. Panoramic circular route in Bavaria. This wonderful route is quite demanding, but rewards with magnificent views and beautiful nature. It goes over the Vorderer Kirchstein and via the Probstalmhütte, past the Edelweiß-Hütte and to the Längental-Alm and back to the starting point.
