Very nice, quiet hike with lots of solitude and beautiful landscapes. It can happen that many farmers are on their way to drive off sheep that have been grazing wildly around the Hirschberg all summer. The summit area can therefore be heavily overcrowded on the paths.

Demanding circular hike in the Bavarian Prealps south of Lake Tegernsee. The hiking route starts in Ohlstadt and leads very steeply uphill, especially in the first 3 kilometres to the Wankhütte. From here, the route is not quite as steep, but still leads to the summit of the Hirschberg on partly stony paths without shade.
