Best trails near Schloss Hohenburg

Popular hike in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. This mountain hike is one of the classics in the Bavarian Pre-Alps. It is particularly suitable as a winter hike. Great tour with a constantly ascending forest path. At the end, the path becomes a little steeper but is still rideable. Towards the Aueralm, you ride up a hiking trail and then head downhill again on a trail that is challenging at first. From the trail you reach the forest road.

The route initially leads along the forest road and is easy to walk. This section is also used by mountain bikes. The ascent to Ochsenkampf is steep, but not difficult. For the descent, which initially leads along the ridge towards Spitz-Auerkamp and a little further on, you should at least be sure-footed. You will be rewarded with a wonderful all-round view.

The stage from Kreuth to Lenggries is relatively long but also very beautiful and promising. You hike long distances through the forest, enjoy the rest and the fresh water of the Schwarzenbach at the Hirschberghaus. The Seekarkreuz offers wonderful views before you hike through the Hirschbachtal to Lenggries. From the Hohenburg hiking car park (720m) on the trail to Lasseln (740m) past the "Mariaeck" signpost heading SE towards the Alpelwand. To the south of it, follow the Alpelgraben in an easterly direction up to the prospectively situated Alpel (1206m).
