Best trails near Zwingeranlage

This segment of the Via Rhenana leads along one of the longest hiking trails in Switzerland, following the historic waterway between Untersee and Hochrhein in ten days. The fourth stage takes four hours from Schaffhausen to Rheinau with its baroque monastery church. It is a former Benedictine abbey on the Rhine island. This impressive ride takes you along the High Rhine and through three cantons, crossing the border four times with the ride through the German enclave of Büsingen; few climbs, mainly on cycle paths and small country roads. The tour starts next to Stein am Rhein in the canton of Schaffhausen. Very beautiful along the border.

This is a fragment of the cycle route that circles Lake Constance. It mainly takes place on well-maintained routes, which is very pleasant. The route runs along the Rhine river and offers great views of the whole region, as well as many historical sights such as old castles. A pleasure for every cyclist.

An excellent route for canoeing on the Rhine, directly along the border between Germany and Switzerland. The route leads from the harbour in Mammern on Lake Gnadensee downstream to the Feuerthal Bridge in Schaffhausen. A fantastic route with marvellous views and, with a bit of luck, you may even spot some wildlife.

The route is criss-cross through the forest from Neunkirch over the Häming and straight uphill. The first part is a forest path, then it goes over a game crossing up to the Häming, to the viewing and barbecue area of Guntmadingen.

As part of the Via Rhenana, the trail leads from Stein am Rhein to Schaffhausen. A flat path along the banks of the Rhine with natural sections, past the Wagenhausen provost church and the monasteries of St Katharinental and Alt Paradies. Then on through the Schaarenwald nature reserve with its historic fortifications to Schaffhausen. The trail starts in Neuhausen through the cultural landscape and one comes through the Swabian forest along the state border with Germany. It comes through Trüllikon and then it goes through the Kohlfirst forest and one comes through Schaffhausen. Then the trail goes through Hemmental valley and then continues in an arc back down to Neuhausen am Rhein.
