Best trails near Munotturm

This segment of the Via Rhenana leads along one of the longest hiking trails in Switzerland, following the historic waterway between Untersee and Hochrhein in ten days. The fourth stage takes four hours from Schaffhausen to Rheinau with its baroque monastery church. It is a former Benedictine abbey on the Rhine island. This impressive ride takes you along the High Rhine and through three cantons, crossing the border four times with the ride through the German enclave of Büsingen; few climbs, mainly on cycle paths and small country roads. The tour starts next to Stein am Rhein in the canton of Schaffhausen. Very beautiful along the border.

As part of the Via Rhenana, the trail leads from Stein am Rhein to Schaffhausen. A flat path along the banks of the Rhine with natural sections, past the Wagenhausen provost church and the monasteries of St Katharinental and Alt Paradies. Then on through the Schaarenwald nature reserve with its historic fortifications to Schaffhausen.
