Challenging hike from Bad Blankenburg via Rudolstadt The hike begins in Bad Blankenburg, where it first crosses the Schwarza river. From here, the route leads past beautiful viewpoints over the Zeigenheimer Berg to Rudolstadt, where a detour to Heidecksburg Castle is recommended. After a second ascent, the hike finally leads to Kochberg Castle, where you can visit the castle and the beautiful castle park.

This short loop leads past the Kirchfels, which invites you to climb. First you come across the lower Kirchfels, then the Kirchfels. Further up the path is the view of Eberstein and a little further on the Fürstenstand. These are actually located in the Schwarzatal nature reserve.
