Best long trails in Warstein

Popular circular hiking trail in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park, North Rhine-Westphalia. The circular route A8 leads to the highest point of the Arnsberg Forest. Good starting points for the hike are, for example, the Loermecketurm car park or the Buchsplit car park. You hike almost continuously through the forest, where little surprises like the Josefsteich await you every now and then. Arrived at the high point of the hike, hikers with a head for heights can climb the more than 200 steps...

This circular trail starts in the Bilsteintal wildlife park, which is free and accessible all year round. After admiring the typical forest animals - red and sika deer, raccoons, foxes, wild boar and lynx - the trail leads to the 35-metre-high Lörmecketurm tower, which at 581 metres above sea level is the highest point in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. From there, you have a marvellous 360-degree view of the Hochsauerland region across the Westphalian Bay and the Haarstrang to the Teutoburg...

A varied mountain bike tour in the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park. Most of this lovely route follows unspoilt trails, with a section on gravelly forest tracks. Depending on how fast or slow you ride, the route becomes easier or more challenging. So if you prefer a more leisurely pace, the ‘A’ route is also well suited for children. Afterwards, why not pay a visit to the wildlife park, which is very close to the starting point.

A varied day trip from Warstein to Rüthen through the Bilsteintal wildlife park, where, with a bit of luck, you can spot red deer, foxes and wild boar. The wildlife park is freely accessible all year round and free of charge, but dogs must be kept on a lead. Other highlights include the three Kahlenbergsköpfe and Körtlinghausen Castle. The tour is suitable for both mountain biking and walking, but depending on the weather, it can quickly become muddy.
