Best forest trails in Voerde

This hike begins in the north of Voerde at the railway station and in the Friedrichsfeld district. The path leads along the Wesel-Datteln Canal and approaches the Rhine. From the ends of the locks, you can see the Rhine as well as the Rhine-Lippe harbour and the Emmelsmum harbour. You can watch the passing barges and the locks in action.

Beautiful circular hike in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route starts at Voerde railway station. It leads past Haus Voerde and then directly to the Rhine. Along its green promenade, you follow the river to the quarry pond and then turn inland, passing Mehrum and then walking between endless fields and the flowing water until shortly before Spellen and back to the starting point.
