Best forest trails in Kamp-Lintfort

Varied circular hiking trail near Kamp-Lintfort, North Rhine-Westphalia. This fairly short hike takes you around the golf courses at Kamp Monastery. The Cistercian monastery, founded in 1123, is located in the immediate vicinity of the historic Fossa Eugeniana canal, the construction of which began in 1626 and was never completed. This is tour no. 5 from Steinbicker, Die schönsten Radtouren am Niederrhein, BVA, 3rd ed. 2012, but on the left and starting from Lintfort. At kilometre 1.8, however, it is better not to follow the track provided by the publisher to the right, but to go straight on for approx. 700 m and then turn right until you come back to the old track.

This hike starts at Kamper Wald's Hoher Busch car park. It leads through the fields around Kamperbrück. It then goes through the forests of Mönchshall and Niederkamp. On the way back, you return to Kamper Forest. The path is relatively flat and is ideal for jogging or walking the dog.
