Best hard trails in Erlangen

Long circular hike from Erlangen to Franconian Switzerland. It goes from the north of Erlangen through the Erlangen Meilwald forest via the Marloffstein clay pit through Neunkirchen am Brand into Franconian Switzerland. Once across the Haarbachwald forest, the hike leads through Hetzles back to Erlangen via the Rathsberg. There are several places to stop for refreshments on the hike and it can also be split into two one-day stages if you stay overnight in Neunkirchen or Hetzles. Highlights...

MTB circuit on the Franconian Trail from Erlangen to Franconian Switzerland. The trail has only a few tarmac sections and mostly runs along forest and field paths. When there is little "traffic", the trail is ideal for mountain biking. The downhill sections can all be ridden with the best "flow" and are not technically very difficult.
