Devil's Pulpit Circular Route

This relaxed route leads through two of the most important park landscapes in Markkleeberg, a town on the southern edge of Leipzig. The trail opens up Goethepark and the neighbouring Herfurthpark (part of the agra park) and runs along a combination of well-maintained park paths, soundproofed forest trails and asphalted promenades. A central highlight is the classicist "White House" in Herfurthpark and the striking Eagle Gate. Kingfishers, grey herons and various species of songbirds can be observed in the extensive green spaces and on the banks of the Pleiße, while the old oak and plane trees provide a refuge for squirrels. The route is flat throughout and is ideal for a relaxing walk or a leisurely run in a historic garden ensemble.
