There are several educational stations along the trail where you can put your knowledge of the "treasures" of the national park to the test. The route starts at the Mallinde hiking car park near Berka v. d. Hainich on the western edge of the national park.
Halfway along, the path leads into a forest meadow, at the edge of which you can already hear the Silberborn spring that gives the trail its name. Above it, a lime tree - the Silberbornlinde - has always had its place. The path now leads back through the forest and below a fireplace back to the starting point.
