Impressive round tour in Schleswig-Holstein.
This route follows in the footsteps of "Landarzt" and takes you to the various filming locations of the popular ZDF series.
The tour starts at the tourist information centre in Süderbrarup. The "Süderbrarup" railway station is very close by, making it easy to travel by public transport.
The easy and level path leads next to Boden to St Mary's Church - a 13th century building. The film country doctor Dr Matthiesen is buried in the church cemetery.
The route continues along the Schlei to the Lindauhof estate. A large part of the series is filmed here on this picturesque estate. Next up is a curiosity that deserves a mention outside of the TV series. Bad Arnis, the smallest town in Germany, is not far from the route.
But the next Landarzt highlight is not long in coming either. Also slightly off the route is the small Holländerhof farm in Wagersrott, where the herbal doctor Hinnerksen lives in the series. This is actually a small local history museum. Accordingly, it is worth a visit either way.
There are lovely places to stop for refreshments along the way and at the starting point.
