In Himmelreich, you join the EB long-distance hiking trail (Eisenach-Budapest), also known as the Friendship Trail. From its opening in 1983 until the fall of the Iron Curtain, it was the only cross-border long-distance hiking trail in the GDR. The EB is a cult trail among hikers and is still popular today. Refreshment stops are available.
