This pleasant loop begins at the Sohl train station and leads through the wooded hills of the Vogtland towards the traditional spa town of Bad Elster. The path rises gently through shaded coniferous and deciduous forests and runs directly to the historic Naturtheater Bad Elster, an atmospheric open-air stage in a quiet forest clearing. The Royal Saxon Garden Inspector Paul Schindel built this first forest stage in Saxony at the beginning of the twentieth century, inspired by the natural landscape that Goethe once appreciated. On soft forest paths, the route finally leads back.
