Through Lonely Forests to Rocky Viewing Platforms

Official hiking route to the viewing platform in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony. As the name suggests, this route is perfect for those seeking peace and quiet. The varied hike leads along easy forest paths and beautiful narrow trails. The route is also not overcrowded. It leads to three of the smallest table mountains. The view from there over the marvellous forest and rocky landscape is magnificent. You start from the car park in Cunnersdorf. A bus also goes there. From there, it's up to the first highlight of the tour - the Spitzenstein viewpoint. In addition to the magnificent view, there is also a bivouac site, which can only be used if you book in advance. Continue along the Wurzelweg trail to the charming Neuteich pond. From there, the M wing leads on to the next highlights - first the Schneeberg view and then on to the Lampertstein with its incredible views. On a good day, you can even see the Königsstein fortress. Descend back to wing M until you reach the Neuteich and turn off onto the Pechweg. The Pechweg leads to the third summit - the Katzfels. A few iron steps take you up to 474 metres, where a stone cat statue, a covered picnic bench and magnificent views await. Before heading back to the starting point, you pass one last great viewpoint, including a little scrambling adventure - the Signalaussicht.
