Right at the start of the hike, the route heads up towards the "Großer Kahlenberg" mountain. The remains of the former 26 metre high "Alexander Tower", on which a viewing platform was built, can still be seen here. Today, the fantastic views of the Bliesgau landscape can be enjoyed again.
The start is either at the car park next to the cemetery or at the car park of St. Stephen's Church. The "Böckweiler Kirche" bus stop is also located here for those travelling by public transport. One village further on, in Altenheim, there is a pizzeria to stop for a bite to eat.
