Idyllic circular hiking trail in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The starting point is within easy walking distance of the railway station in the West/Pallien district of Trier. Right at the start, the trail enters a very beautiful and wonderfully idyllic forest that leads into Trier's Busental valley. From there, the route continues past St Mark's Chapel and on to the Marian Column, which watches over Trier from the left bank of the Moselle at a height of 300 metres. The monument and pedestal together are over 40 metres high and truly imposing. There are several places to stop for refreshments in Pallien.
