Versatile mountain bike tour in Rhineland-Palatinate.
This beautiful and very challenging route leads into the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park. The start is at the end of the village of Hettenrodt. The route heads northwards via Kirschweiler and through the Idarwald forest. The mountainous terrain is challenging, but at the same time a real pleasure to ride thanks to the marvellous landscape. In the Bernkastel-Kues area, the Moselle is crossed twice and you can enjoy the beautiful vineyards. The high-altitude village of Hinzerath makes up for the tough journey with a wonderful view. Later, you return to the starting point via the old Roman road through Bischofsdhron. There are numerous places to stop for refreshments along the way.
