Laacher Lake Circular Route

Idyllic hike around the Laacher See near Glees, Rhineland-Palatinate This beautiful route leads around the well-known Laacher See, which formed more than 13,000 years ago from a volcanic crater and shaped the surrounding landscape. The route is absolutely flat and very easy. The proximity to the lake and the surrounding nature can be enjoyed over a distance of more than 8 kilometers. However, direct contact with the water is only possible at the bird sanctuary not far from the parking lot. It is understandable that this beautifully situated, largest lake in Rhineland-Palatinate is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in the area. The trees on the east bank, the fish and waterfowl and the good location make it a great recreation area. If you listen closely, you can even hear bubbling - not far from the shore at Geopoint L3, bubbles rise from the depths of the water. At the starting point there is a car park (for a fee) and the Maria Laach bus stop car park. There is also an information point, toilets and a snack bar.
