Beautiful forest hike at Lake Laach near Glees, Rhineland-Palatinate
This route leads north of Mending through the forest areas around Lake Laach. It leads along partly overgrown forest paths through the marvellous nature here in the Volcanic Eifel. Halfway along the route, a viewpoint offers wonderful views of the volcanic lake, although it is an advantage if the trees have already lost their leaves. Sturdy shoes and long trousers are an advantage. The start is at the "Hochkreuz" car park.
There are no refreshment stops along the way, but there is a bench for a small picnic.
