Enigmatic signs of the Times - Mönchsweg 1 in Hochspeyer

Beautiful, wooded circular trail near Hochspeyer in Rhineland-Palatinate The Mönchsweg 1 is part of the "Mysterious Signs of the Times" themed hiking trails. Both exciting and varied, the route provides insights into the past. The Mönchswege are based on the records of the Jewish Hochspeyer local historian Leopold Seeh (1873-1937). They were named after monks who, from the 12th century onwards, used this route to return from their local monastery to their estates. The route leads along various contemporary witnesses. Signposts provide information about the various artefacts such as woodwork, stone pillars and carved stone slabs along the way. The path is also very beautiful to walk and you are constantly encouraged with surprises. The route starts in Hochspeyer near the railway station at the car park.
