This route is a certified premium hiking trail. For the most part, it follows narrow paths along interesting rock formations and great viewpoints over the ridges around the two Wasgau villages of Schwanheim and Darstein. The hike starts at the car park in Darstein at the end of the village in the direction of Vorderweidenthal.
There are refreshment stops along the route. Due to the incline, this is quite a challenging route and requires fitness. The route can also be hiked in two stages.
