Popular premium hiking trail in the Palatinate Forest Nature Park, Rhineland-Palatinate.
This route is a certified premium hiking trail. As the name suggests, there are all kinds of streams, springs, ponds and fountains along the route. You also pass many bizarre sandstone rocks along the way.
The hike begins in Fischbach am Dahn. You can park your car near the starting point or travel there directly by bus. Just a few metres after the start, you can visit the treetop path or the observation tower. Typical for the Palatinate Forest, the route goes up and down through the Spießbach valley, Deckental and finally to the Rossbach, whose course is followed to the end. From there, the route climbs towards Kleiner and Großer Mückenkopf. There you can enjoy the marvellous view before heading downhill and through the beautiful Wolfsägertal valley back to the village.
