Neustadt / Wstr.- Weinbiet-Ruine Wolfsburg Circular Route

Beautiful circular forest trail around Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, Rhineland-Palatinate. The circular hiking trail Weinbiet - Wolfsburg leads from Neustadt an der Weinstrasse up to one of the highest mountains in the Palatinate Forest, the Weinbiet. In addition to a children's playground, the summit offers a lookout tower from which the entire surrounding area can be overlooked. The route then leads back to Neustadt an der Weinstraße via Wolfsberg Castle. The route starts at Neustadt railway station and first leads up through the town in the direction of Haardtrand-Schlossberg. There you pass the forest park with the former Wolf'schen facilities, which are now considered a lost place. The route continues steadily uphill through the forest to Weinbiet. There you can enjoy the beer garden at the Weinbiethaus with a refreshing drink (note opening times). The descent leads past the Schuhbaum and the Stone Table to the next highlight - the Wolfsberg castle ruins. This is a former high medieval noble castle high above the Trubach valley.
