This hike starts at the Altmühle car park and leads through the hilly beauty of the Palatinate Forest near Leinsweiler. Passing some knights' stones, you reach Madenburg Castle. From there, the trail leads through the valley past Leinsweiler. If you wish, you can plan a detour into the village and stop for a bite to eat. The next ascent is to Neukastei Castle. Magnificent views allow you to linger a while. A little way down into the valley and you reach the third highlight of the tour - uphill to the Schumacherfelsen rock before returning to the starting point.
