Scenic section of the Lahnwanderweg hiking trail in Rhineland-Palatinate.
This stage offers a wonderful combination of forest and wine, marvellous views such as Gabelstein, Wolfslei or Goethepunkt and secluded valleys. Castles are enthroned in Balduinstein and Laurenburg.
However, this stage requires a bit of fitness, surefootedness and a head for heights - it goes up and down, sometimes climbing along ridges secured by ropes. However, if you prefer something more relaxed, you can also take an alternative route without climbing. There are refreshment stops in Oberhnof.
