Koblenz-Oberwerth Marathon (IVV 2012)

Magnificent marathon course near Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate. Very experienced runners will love this challenging but also very beautiful route. The start is near the Oberwerth sports club at the CGM Arena. The route leads to the Laubachtal hiking car park, which is located in the Koblenz city forest. Here you pass various springs, including that of the Königsbach stream. Not always an easy run: there are a few short climbs to conquer. The panorama, however, is unbeatable and the idyllic forest provides the perfect setting. A long loop runs between the Siebenborn settlement and Osterspaier Forest parallel to the Rhine embankment road to Braubach, passing the Koppelsstein-Helmestal nature reserve on the left. The route continues along the beautiful Rhine via Koblenz-Stolzenfels and past the entire Lahnstein area on the right to Königsbach. The final spurt of this marathon then continues to the starting point at the Oberwerth stadium.
