Interesting circular route in the Westerwald-Lahn-Taunus Geopark, Rhineland-Palatinate.
The hike begins and ends at the large car park (free of charge) at the Fuchskaute restaurant and runs partly along the widely known Rothaarstieg. This leads to the Ketzerstein natural monument near Weißenberg, close to a shady rest area. The special feature of this basalt formation, which marks the end of a former lava flow, is the magnetic disturbance emanating from the rock formation, so that every compass "goes crazy" here. It is nice to take a break here and at the same time enjoy the wonderful distant view over the High Westerwald. Later, the trail continues to the "Drei-Länder-Eck", where the federal states of Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia meet. Cross the Ketzerbach stream on the wooden footbridge - and the border with Hesse is reached. By the way, the Fuchskaute is the highest point in the Westerwald! A stop for refreshments is possible along the way.
