The starting point for this hike or mountain bike tour is the village of Engeln (alternatively: start at the Vulkan-Express railway station in Brohl and take the train to the starting point in Engeln). From there, the route takes you past the Engeln sand pit, up to Ohlbrück Castle, on a detour to Königssee and on to Rodder Maar. From there you walk or cycle back to the Rhine Valley. A very varied, but also quite sporty hike due to its length. There are refreshment stops in Brohl.
