Stage 3 of the long-distance hiking trail "Ausoniusweg", Rhineland-Palatinate.
This is the third day's stage of the Ausonius Trail, which follows in the footsteps of the Roman poet Ausonius from Bingen to Trier through the Hunsrück. Just like the previous sections, the hike from Kirchberg to Morbach is considered challenging. The hiking trail along the old Roman road is peppered with cultural and historical attractions. You should definitely take some time to explore the Belginum Archaeological Park, where you can admire many finds from the ancient settlement of "Vicus Belginum".
The starting and finishing points can be reached by bus. In Morbach (a short distance south of the official end of the stage) there are overnight accommodation and refreshment stops.
