• Trails closed due to fire in the Hautes Fagnes : From 14 August 2026, several trails in the Hautes Fagnes will be temporarily closed due to a major fire. The closures affect, in particular, the Signal de Botrange, Mont Rigi and Baraque Michel areas. There you cycle round the Elsenborg camp on country lanes. Alternatively, it is also possible to cycle through the camp on armoured roads or gravel sections. It is important to pay attention to the signs at the entrances to the camp, which publicise the times of firing exercises. The route continues for a few kilometres along the "Vennbahn cycle path". This is left at around KM 50. Then the gravel sections begin, which give way more and more to tarmac as the years go by.
